HOBOKEN

My Mama

The Famous Dirt
Roads

I spent a lot of time in that old barn!

What
you might ask is a Hoboken...
Well its not in Jersey.
Its in Georgia.
Southeast part of the state.
I call it a swamp.
Its a pretty nice town to live it.

But sometimes you have to be a bit creative, or you might get bored.

I lived on Main Street most of my life.
The Church was my neighbors. LOL!

OK, for those whose havent had the pleasure of visiting, in the center is our red light. I am proud they fought hard for it and earn every LED that's in this light.

Now, we arent just any big ole city. We have something that I HAVE NOT found in many cities nor states.

WE HAVE DIRT ROADS!

For the longest time, I kept these roads hot. Yes, I did keep the oil companies in business from a very early age.

The pics didnt post in the order I would have liked but i hope you see the beauty in a rural south Georgia town!

The Birds

I just returned from the backyard. I have feed up the birds. This season I am late returning home to get them fattened up for winter. Better late than never. I like to say if the Lord wills.
Anyway, for the last few years, Mandy has feed the birds. She actually started this little hobby of mine.

The red birds are great. They have all kinds of personality. The boy bird has been eating Bears dog food. LOL! Today, Bear followed me around the yard, watching me fill me spots up. I am sure he is secretly glad that I am finally feeding them. Maybe they will stay out of my dog food. LOL!

Hanging at the house

Memorial Day Weekend!
what to do?

That has been asked a bunch lately. Everyone looks at me a little strange when I say, I dont Want to do ANYTHING today. LOL. I just want to piddle around doing this and that. I may go to the store and pick up a few more things, but other than that I am unmotivated to do anything.

Ok the pics.

This is a pecan tree in our backyard. It just so happens I walked by a caught him getting some sun.
This Red Bird eats our dog's food. INSANE. Bear, bulldog, is not fond of this but so far so good.
Dylan wants to play football. Need I say more?
The last is our newest edition. he has no name yet. lol, maybe soon.

GAS PRICES!

In the last week, I have been to five states. Middle of last week gas prices dropped. OK. In all 5 states

EXCEPT, GRIFFIN'S COUNTRY MALL in Hoboken, Ga. A small town, locally owned gas station gouges prices. EVERYTHING IS EXTREMELY marked high.

Just wanted to vent a little bit. Greed will get ya. Don't be ugly, God don't like ugly. HAHAHAHA!

These pics are from Georgia's Beautiful Capitol. ATLANTA! Had to try out my mothers day present.
Dylan and Mandy being silly with me on our last day at the park.
Just practicing with some filters and such. the garden had statues that went along with the Italian theme. It was relaxing and I enjoyed all the beautiful details that were added to park. LOOOOVVVVVEEEEDDDDD it.

Mandy

these few months taught us so much about each other.

Mandy learned some great new tricks with colored pencils.
We found out that she can throw a football like a champ.
AND
Dylan told her She was the Bravest Girl He EVER Met!

Mandy had a super great month

Here goes an IDEA

Scrabble

The object of any game is to win.

I have always played with people who DESPISED losing.

I will not mention any names, but my bestie use to bump the game board when she was lagging behind. From early on, I learned how to lose. Oh, its way harder than you think. Especially when the cards are just laid in your lap.

Back to the Scrabble, ITS MY FAVORITE GAME. I have one sister, and she is 10 years older than I am so OF COURSE I understand that people are going to beat me. Lol. That never changed the fact that I wanted to play to game.
I have recently discovered a game called WordFued. I love it, but there are a few peeps on my list that whine and cry when they lose. I have been amazed by the fact that grown men will pout, pitch a fit, and will STOP playing just because they lose.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!

I need to vent a bit.
I can take it.
I am a big girl now.
If you have to win, I can throw the game. LOL

VA to GA, I 95 (our home away from home)

Driving Home.
Took a little longer than expected, but it turned out right on time.

Sometimes God Stops us.

FOR OUR OWN GOOD!

Example: Kids and I are heading to Bush Gardens on Sat. Its our last day in Va. Woohoo! Right! ? I had parked right by the door on all of our visits, but this time they were sold out. Well we ended up in Bolivia, HAHAHA! It was across the interstate from the park. Anyway, I was so not happy about returning to my car in Bolivia at 1130 that night! Well.

We start walking to our tram bus and I ask, Where is your pass Dylan?...

OK. He did not have it. Well, I was kind of glad. LOL! So we went back to the motel picked up the pass, and YOU KNOW WHAT! I GOT MY PARKING SPOT RIGHT BY THE FRONT GATE. Just like I like it. Wow, thanks for the favor God.

I guess that's what God means sometimes when I try to rush out the door. In a hurry to get where ever FAST! but CANT! He says, WHOA!!!!!!!!!!! I got this ...

PEACE OUT!

April and May...

I guess I have been BUSY! Lol, not very true, but I have sure been without my laptop for a while! I am taking a small break from packing our suitcases. Heading to the next spot, but I must drop by and unload all these goodies we have acquired. Our journey started in April and now at the end of May, we have a new chapter. Yorktown, Va, is one of our FAVORITE spots to hang out.
Bush Gardens is a Great GREAT GREAT place. I enjoyed the shows, the rides, and the shopping. Mandy and I visited the pottery place and painted a set of coffee mugs that were baked. The ride scared me silly, but they were too much fun. The best thing was watching the kids and hanging out with them. They were very compassionate and loving when I had 4 waterfalls drench me from top to bottom.
But the boiler is running, and we must go fix another one. Who knows where we might show up next!!!

To explain the pics...
The top 4 was our very first time at an amusement park. Mandy has always been afraid of heights. She got out of the car and told me NO ONE WILL MAKE ME RIDE ANYTHING, RIGHT? lol, well she surprised us all and rode every single ride arms in the air. the pics are from the first ride.
Oh yeah, my kids danced all over Bush Gardens these past few weeks. OF COURSE!

We found a great soccer field to play in too. Pic 5 and 6 are from a friendly game of football.
And finally the Last 4 pics are from another day at the park.
